More Adventures

Here are our suggestions for even more wonderful adventures for you to consider:

Over the years, we have found some great people to ride with, and we would like to introduce you to a few of them:

1. DAN GRISWELL, Paradise, CA:

Dan has a pack of hounds and he hunts coyote, bobcat, wild pig, and really most anything. He has a club called the "Indian Springs Hounds" and they hunt mostly on weekends in the winter and early spring. We join them near Chico, CA, and when they come over the mountains to the Susanville area, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HUNT WITH US, contact us to arrange! YOU MUST BE A VERY GOOD RIDER!! Dan charges $40 to guide, and I charge $100 for the horse. You may ride either English or Western.

2.The Old Yella Dog Ranch, Vya, NV

This is a working cattle ranch that includes a hunters' camp and a guest ranch. It has miles and miles to explore, between High Rock Canyon and the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge. Bring your RV, your horses, or rent a cabin with all the comforts of home!

3. The Fascio Ranch in the Black Rock Desert

This conservation and guest ranch is owned by the charming Sylvia Fascio, and is located 150 miles North of Reno, near Gerlach, NV. THere are several cabins, miles of canyons and ridges to explore, and great "rock hounding."

Now: This is the key to the whole thing: There is a Shell station on your left. From there to our driveway is 19.5 miles. SET YOUR ODOMOETER, and DO NOT USE MAPQUEST OR GOOGLE MAPS! You will go through neighborhoods, then fewer houses, then you will be way up high and no houses - Keep Going!! You will go down into a whole new valley. At 19 miles you will pass Dry Valey Road. At 19.5 miles Frontier Road is on the right. We are on that corner. There is a big railroad tie entrance about 50 feet back from the road. You Made It!
