Hi! I'm Terry Kauffman | ...and I have been in the business of putting people & horses together for enjoyable experiences for 32 years. My sons, Leo and Markus, have been involved since childhood. I grew up riding horses and ponies in Santa Barbara, California. Our Home Base is Rancho Red Rock, 30 minutes North of Reno, Nevada. When our weather is good, we are open for trail rides, lessons, and visits. In the summer we operate the riding program at Northstar-at-Tahoe. | Here I am at age 9 with Mr. Moreno. I was privileged to learn about horses from this remarkable old "Californio" at his ranch in the mountains above Santa Barbara, CA In the summer we operate Northstar Stables at Lake Tahoe. We breed and train our own horses & ponies, which we feel results in a better riding experience than you will find at a public stable. We show our horses locally in jumping, dressage, & western, and we compete in endurance rides. Before setting out, we give all riders an orientation about horse behavior, tell them about the particular horse each is riding, and answer any questions or concerns. We want you and your horse to have a good experience! |
Rancho Red Rock lies on one of the "North Valleys" about 30 miles North of Reno, Nevada. When the weather is good, we are open for all types of riding: Beginner lessons, quiet family rides, pony rides for small children, or for the trail rider, we can offer hours and hours of riding in the hills. We can also trailer to many nearby areas for variety. All riding is private, tailored to your needs. You are never put into a group of strangers! Please book YOUR RIDE AT LEAST ONE DAY IN ADVANCE!
