Mountain Horse Camp is a "learn to ride" type of experience for young people 8 -17 years old. This year we will take as many as 10 campers per week. Campers will be grouped by ability and experience, with 2 levels offered. We feel in this way each camper will have an excellent experience and will learn more.

In addition to riding, we take nature walks, learn about horses and how they think and react to the animals, plants and changes in terrain that we find in nature.

Each day includes at least 2 hours of riding. We also learn about horse behavior, grooming, how to tack up safely, types of tack, and feeding. We do all our riding out in the hills.

You get to try bareback riding!

5-day Mountain Horse Camps at Northstar Stables.

Horse Camp will be offered weekly from June 19 through August 28, with the exception of the week of 4th of July. Camp operates Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 PM.

Today, sadly, many riders only work in an arena. Riding in varied terrain is valuable to all types of riding disciplines.

Riders need to be in fit condition, bring layered clothing, boots or sturdy shoes, sunscreen and a snack.

All riders will get a T-shirt and certificate of completion at a BBQ Friday evening.

$400.00 per session
