JOB OPPORTUNITIES


We do not currently need any more employees this winter. In the spring we will be hiring at Rancho Red Rock, as well as for the summer season at Northstar.

For Rancho Red Rock, You must be a very good rider, almost a trainer, as we will be training our young horses. You will also be taking rides out and giving lessons. Call or email in March of 2008

Northstar Stables will need 2 or 3 guides. THis is intense "people work" as well as taking care of the horses and spending 4 - 6 hours each day in the saddle. Call or email any time after March 1, 2008

 

FOR POSITIONS AT BOTH LOCATIONS
 

 

YOU MUST:

  • be 18 years old or older

  • be in fit physical condition, able to work 8 hours straight

  • be an expert rider

  • hold a valid Drivers License

  • have excellent "People Skills"

DUTIES:

  • Groom & Saddle horses

  • Help with Feeding & Clean-up

  • Help train young horses

  • Give orientation speeches and guide groups of 2 - 6 riders on trail rides

HIRING PROCEDURE:
Call or Email to schedule a "try-out" and interview, which will last 2 -3 hours. If you are hired, you will undergo 2 - 4 days of paid training.

If you "pass" you will be offered a full position on our team.

PAY:

Tryout Day: 2 - 3 hours of your time
Training Period (2 - 4 days): $40/day
Full Hire: $10/hour plus tips

These are high energy jobs, and sometimes the days are long. But if you love horses and enjoy helping guests experience a great time, it is very satisfying! And - you keep all the tips!

    FROM RENO:     Take Hwy. 395 North about 9.7 miles. Take Exit 78 - Red Rock Road. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto Red Rock Road. Now: This is the key to the whole thing: There is a Shell station on your left. From there to our driveway is 19.5 miles. SET YOUR ODOMOETER, and DO NOT USE MAPQUEST OR GOOGLE MAPS! You will go through neighborhoods, then fewer houses, then you will be way up high and no houses - Keep Going!! You will go down into a whole new valley. At 19 miles you will pass Dry Valey Road. At 19.5 miles Frontier Road is on the right. We are on that corner. There is a big railroad tie entrance about 50 feet back from the road. You Made It!
